Problems buying a home, not in my house!
Making the transition from renting an apartment to owning a home can be a huge achievement I can remember thinking to myself a few years ago that owning a house was without a doubt out of my reach. I was sure that the loan payment would be a lot more than my current rent, or that there would be a enormous down payment I would not be able to afford. It can be easy to forget that a home comes with upkeep and more utilities, but there are methods to combat extra expenses within the utilities. The upside is that you own the home and are earning equity and not just throwing away your cash with no returns. Also, I could not help but fretting about the fact that home ownership is not as easy as my apartment. The reality was getting much more room for a small increase in my rent payments. It was easy to remember that the house is ours, and can be modified as our hearts and budget saw fit! That most difficult part was when I thought, how do I start this?

1st I had to figure out my finances, what was the least or the most? How good was my credit rating? How much of a down payment could I put down? What length did I want a mortgage for, fifteen or thirty years? Once I did the calculations on that, I started talking to family and friends who are home owners.
Family & friends are great for figuring out how buying a home works. It can also be easy to get distracted from your ultimate goal: to purchase a house that fits what I need and is in my budget. I know of several friends who would say to me “I saw this amazing house on the way home, you should see it!” It would usually be a home way out of the way or totally out of my budget.

They can be able to help you find a Realtor that they think can help you, and that is a step in the right direction. I found an agent that was close by and extremely friendly, through my friend. I have mixed opinions on where to find an agent, because my bank or the insurance wants to get you a on their payroll. Fortunately the agent turned out to be very smart and knowledgeable It is extremely important to get a Realtor you are comfortable around, because there will be many questions along the way, and several hours working together. Always be positive you are comfortable with them before completing any paperwork.
